The mission of our Scholarship is to award a local student who will help make the planet a better place to live by providing awareness and experience in one of the following fields of study: horticulture, agricultural science, forestry, botany, ecology, environmental science, soil and crop science, natural resource management, land use management, habitat science and green technology. We know the importance of teaching our young people to be aware of these goals and we want to do a small part by helping them on their career path in one of these fields.
Our 2024 scholarship award was presented on May 30 at the Guilderland High School Awards Ceremony. Ann Trolenberg, Guilderland Garden Club Scholarship Chairperson, presented a check to Nora Biega, a Guilderland High School Senior. (See photo below) Nora plans to attend Tufts University this Fall to study Environmental Engineering. We would like to congratulate Nora and wish her success in all her future endeavors.
Our 2023 Scholarship Award recipient was Samuel Webster who is attending the Syracuse University School of Forestry. This is a public research university focusing on the environment and natural resources. We wish him well as our very first recipient of this award.
This year our Scholarship fundraiser was a Nothing Bundt Cakes sale. Thank you to everyone who purchased a cake and participated in this event. We are so honored to be able to make a difference in the lives of some of our local students! Thank you so much!
For more information on our Scholarship Fund, please contact Ann Trolenberg at: [email protected].
Donations are always welcome for the Club Scholarship Program. All checks should be made payable to: Guilderland Garden Club and sent to Guilderland Garden Club, PO Box 282, Guilderland Center, NY 12085. Thank you.
